Backpacking with a G-tube
It's been a long time since I've posted here, we moved to Spokane a couple years ago. I'm trying to find first hand accounts of anyone who has backpacked with a gastrostomy feeding tube. I'm pretty sure we can handle it but I'm hoping to find someone else that has done it. I'm coming up empty on goo...

Re: Please tell me I'm wrong...
we saw his pedi a couple days after exposure, and I called poison control immediately. He doesn't have it very bad at all, if that is what he has. His only symptom is a small, light rash on his chin which could be attributed to teething/drooling. I, on the other hand, am a mess. My right eye is swol...

Re: Multnomah Falls trail closed
I was here today, around 3pm. The freeway exit was open at that time, but the pedestrian tunnel was closed. The creek had spilled its bank and was flooding the tunnel. There are FS employees stationed at the tunnel and at the parking lot on 30 to keep people away from the creek - it is incredibly da...

Re: I shouldn't be alive - Animal Planet
Romann: If you are interested in learning more about that story, Stephen Callahan actually wrote a book about his experience. I didn't watch the episode, but I did read the book and it was pretty good. It is called Adrift. I don't have cable so I don't watch this show, but I love these types of stor...

Eagle Fern Park 11-28-10
Our family did a short hike at Eagle Fern Park today. It was only about 1.5miles, but it was the first time I've been really outdoors in the woods since before my son was born three weeks ago. Until I get more comfortable taking him places, I need short hikes that don't gain much in elevation, are s...

Re: Deschutes River 11/13/2010
thanks for sharing your trip. my husband and i usually spend quite a bit of time out there starting in january when we are sick of the rain and need some clear (and usually sunny) cold weather. i'm not sure if we'll be up for any overnight trips this year due to the new little one, but i assure you ...

Re: 10-24-10 Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge
thanks for sharing this. it is now on my radar, it seems a perfect first outdoor destination for a 2.5week old. i've been reading trip reports all weekend and chomping at the bit to get out, but our weather is less than favorable for anything less than a walk around the block. i've never been to rid...
