Re: Washougal River and Gordy Jolma 3-16-23

I went today. The mounds are still untrustworthy. A trail dropped down to the river before the lake, after that the road didn’t seem to go anywhere and i turned around at a big stump

Great trail report! Those humps are untrustworthy for sure. I am disappointed about the “please enjoy wr park” because past that sign looks like solid woods. Perhaps you found my new fishing spot

Washougal river state park

This park is marked on google maps and is located up vernon rd. The turn is marked “private” “deadend” but thats not true. The end of the road is gated with a brown sign and a faded fish and wildlife badge. The trail is underdeveloped but it’s possible to get to the river. https://wildliferecreation...

Thanks in advance for thinking about it :) Silver star mountain (grouse vista/tarbell) has some snow right now. Itll ...

Radio check?

The tradition of carrying walkies or having a 2 way radio in the car is mostly dead. I carry a talkbout for “emergency” but I literally have no use for it because every line is dead. The only success ive had is finding a school security channel. Is there an established channel for hikers besides 1^1?

Country Sheriff in the mountains

Someone stole a white pickup truck at the grouse vista trailhead area. I was exploring the silver star mine trail and emerged to find a white suburban pulling up from the east. I talked to the officer and he didn’t ask for my nsme, license, discover pass nothing. He asked if i saw a white dodge comi...

Silver star southridge pack test

Instead of parking below the gate by the gravel pile im parking in the clearcut and walking in. The trail up the hill past the treeline. One you find the trail, drop in and go right. The hike is roughly 3 miles with a steep downhill on your left side. I want to do this trail to practice for a pack t...
