Re: Trip Report Oregon Coast Trail Three Capes
A friend figured out the mystery of the bunnies and then I guess it's actually a big problem in Cannon Beach. I was always thinking they were someone's escaped pet or they were free range roaming. Google search shows Las Vegas has a big bunny problem too! Funny, cute, and sad at the same time. https...

Re: Eagle Creek to Timberline Lodge 9/20/21 - 09/23/21
Well, don't own a car so have to use public transportation! A bunch of people I knew on the East Coast who were hikers didn't own a car. Seems much harder to get to the trailhead from Portland without one.
Yeah, mostly just part of Eagle Creek trail was burned. PCT seemed OK.

Eagle Creek to Timberline Lodge 9/20/21 - 09/23/21
https://www.alltrails.com/explore/map/eagle-creek-to-timberline-lodge-4996dcc?u=i 4 days, 3 nights Crossings for Timberline Trail around Mt Hood that I used at PCT Muddy Fork, Sandy River, and Zigzag Canyon were no issue, all had log bridges. Also heard that Eliot and Coe were about mid-calf high an...

Re: Timberline Trail around Mt Hood conditions?
Got back! Thanks again for all the advice. The crossings were no problem. Actually Sandy was easier than I've seen it in the past 2 years. Only one point for crossing and there was a log bridge. A hiker going counterclockwise said that Eliot and Coe crossings were about mid calf deep and 8 or 9 feet...

Re: Timberline Trail around Mt Hood conditions?
Thanks! Yeah, I see on some maps that the trail by Split Rock. Also see the other one. I'll probably try the one by Split Rock this trip since I figure it should be easy to find. Probably don't feel confident to go across to the other trail until I go up that one by itself another trip when I have t...

Re: Timberline Trail around Mt Hood conditions?
Thanks! Yeah, that area, I think it's the Paradise Loop? That's one of my favorite hikes in the area. Probably too late for wildflowers by now. I met someone the other day who said it's possible to take a route up to a sort of summit up there? I looked on some maps and it looks like there could be 2...

Re: Timberline Trail around Mt Hood conditions?
Thanks! I'm going to think about a trip starting from Cascade Locks going down the Eagle Creek trailhead and joining the PCT, then taking the PCT to Timberline Lodge. Grab the Mount Hood Express back to Portland. Start maybe Tuesday or Wednesday next week. That way I can avoid I think the tougher cr...
