Kuitan Lake 9/16/22 - 09/18/22
My buddy was deer hunting for a week, with a base camp at Kuitan Lake, which is a couple of miles walk from the Robinson Lake trail head. I rolled in late Friday afternoon and shadowed him as he hunted the area to the west a little. I'm not a hunter but it was interesting to watch and learn about it...

Re: Harts Cove from Neskowin
Much appreciated, thanks!cfm wrote: ↑September 9th, 2021, 6:10 pmI've been on that trail, somewhere around 2006 and discussed it later with none other than Russ Jolley! The locals use it, you can walk around the gate and head up to our public land! I recall well worn tread but lots of massive blow down trees that had workarounds.

Re: Harts Cove from Neskowin
https://stateparks.oregon.gov/ckFiles/files/OCT-Map-3.pdf You've probably already researched the Oregon State Parks site, but here's the map section for this section of the trail. Yes, but it seems they want you walking on 101 for some or all of the area from Neskowin to Lincoln City which does not...

Re: 9/7/21 - 9/8/21 Herman Creek to Eagle Creek via Chinidere, Wahtum
Since you had an extra day, you could have walked back to the HC trailhead on the Gorge trail! I think the connection is 8 miles. Though part of it is right next to the freeway, so not so nice. No fast food place to get a soda with ice in CL? That seems strange. My plan B was to try and camp at eag...

that's weird your report disappeared, thanks for the 2nd abbreviated one the last time I parked at Herman Creek TH was a few years ago and someone took my gas, plus it cost a few $100 to fix it maybe next time I'll park down below on the road where more people can see it (or, maybe the fuel line ju...

9/7/21 - 9/8/21 Herman Creek to Eagle Creek via Chinidere, Wahtum
I wrote a long report on this but it disappeared into cyberspace, so this is an abbreviated one. I hiked from Herman Creek TH (3 piles of broken auto glass there...spooky - left doors unlocked, worked out ok.) Had planned 3 days/2 nights but its pretty much all down hill from Wahtum to Eagle Creek T...

Report disappeared
I just spent about an hour writing a trip report and hit save draft, and it took me to the login screen. This report is gone forever now, right?

Harts Cove from Neskowin
Hi all, I am trying to hike from Neskowin to Knight County Park without walking on 101. I think I have a pretty good route figured using Harts Cove Trail, Cascade Head Trail, and FS 1861. There appears to be a trail from South Neskowin to Harts Cove. The legal status of this trail is not clear to me...
