Re: soto amicus spurts fuel

soto amicus spurts fuel
soto amicus- fantastic, light stove. only problem is it pisses fuel when connecting and disconnecting to canister. yes, i have the dial turned off. i had a windmaster for a while and it did it, as well. other stove (fire-maple wasp... great stove btw) i have doesn't do this. is this a soto blip or p...

Re: maps
great tips- i never considered Powells. i'm not terribly map-literate, and need one for the timberline trail, specifically. not too eager to rely on phone. i might print one from the sites provided. stopped by REI in clackamas yesterday and their selection was pretty thin. thanks!

Re: sleeping pads
thanks for all the tips. i picked up a used thermarest 48" - not sure about the model- for $30, just to get me by until i can donate enough plasma to earn enough for an expensive, light, comfy pad.

hammock camping on timberline trail
couple of us doing the timberline trail in mid august. I'm primarily set up for hammock camping. trees? maybe a silly question, but i really don't know. i'd hate to get out there and wish i'd swapped it out for my tent, or even a ground mat and tarp.
thanks
thanks

sleeping pads
so my next question is: sleeping pads. my 20yr old therm-a-toss-and-turn finally bit it with an unpatchable ember hole. fast forward to now, and they've changed! ultralight? $200? what the heck? i'm trying to go semi-ultralight with my gear. like everyone else, i'm looking for the best affordable de...
