Re: Primrose Trail?
The only problem is all the flagging. Flagging ad nauseum. There is so much flagging festooning these new trails that it feels like you're at a child's birthday party. I was standing at one spot and could see at least 8 different flags, all within 100 ft radius, in a variety of colors. The trail tre...

Re: knife
I've left several knives out in the woods during mushroom season. They usually have a paintbrush attached with duct tape. Have you found any of those?

Re: Kings Mountain Junior Loop Hike - Yikes!
To each their own I guess. I find the Kings Mountain Junior route to be much more pleasant than coming down than the main trail. I always use that route for the downhill. Less people, less erosion, a nice little ridge (Coronary Ridge) and a lovely finish through the alders on the Wilson River Trail.

Good job Christabrews!
That was a great read, thank you for sharing your experience and all those interesting encounters you had. Glad you got to see a bear and it behaved normally.

Re: This is how you kill someone
Hey Squidvicious, you asked for it. Well not the human assault, that sucks. But running towards any unleashed dog on a trail can provoke a defense reaction. Especially on the most popular tourist trail in the state. A place where many dog and humans take their first hike ever! Just look at their foo...

Re: Little Storm Lake Wallowas 7/9-10/22
We did the Bear Creek trail to Dobben Creek Trail. Saw people at Standley Cabin and that was it for 5 days. Highly recommend Washboard Ridge. Basin below Sturgill Saddle for 2nd night. Sandy Saddle area felt like Yosemite. Mosquitoes only a little annoying at dusk in camp, otherwise never noticed th...

Re: Little Storm Lake Wallowas 7/9-10/22
I just came back from a trip in that area myself. We took 5 days to do the Bear Creek Loop using the heavenly Washboard Ridge Trail. Fun route finding on intermittent snow, glad to have gizmo to help guide us. Spent our 3rd night at Bear Lake(7900 ft) which is just melted out and found perfect camps...

Mt Eddy, CA
I was in Northern California for a few days and enjoyed this nice hike. Started my trip on the PCT from Park Creek Summit, which is about a 30 min drive from I-5 near Weed, CA. Good paved road to TH at 6900 ft. Headed south on the PCT, which travels along a ridge here that is known as the Trinity-Sh...
