Re: BADGER-KIRK-SHARK, GEMS OF THE BOUNDARY 8/27/2019

I don't have any problem with the riders, it is the ruts which get tiring. The final bit on Badger Peak was a bit much, but the Boundary Trail, itself wasn't too bad except at Badger Lake and a few of the switchbacks. The area is a gem under most people's radar, a true highlight of Skamania ;-]

Re: Paradise Park: Lost Creek Lollipop Loop

You can loop the Paradise Park trail with the Hidden Lake trail to for diversity ... but then you still have that climb out of Zig Zag. Advantage is few people except in the park. I like the Paradise Park trail to backpack in as well. Like you say, 3000 feet of gain, but it is steady and not at once...

360 cameras

Anyone else using 360 cameras on their hikes? I have a Xiaomi Mijia Mi Sphere which is a pretty neat adjunct to my iPhone 8 - the best 360 for the money currently is probably the Insta360 One X, but like everything else, that seems to change quickly. The photos on the Mi Sphere are great - especiall...

Re: WHAT IS ABOVE PARADISE? 9/7/2019

Wasn't afraid of getting lost as much as I went up there to take pictures. Being in the clouds limits that possibility. Thanks for the advise on looking below as well as on high. A nice hike, even if I got to do Zig Zag twice ;-\

Re: Mount Margaret 9/12/2019

It is amazing to see the changes since the late 1980's! The Margaret area of the Boundary Trail is a special region.

BADGER-KIRK-SHARK, GEMS OF THE BOUNDARY 8/27/2019

I have wanted to hike in this area of the Boundary Trail for years now. The whole 53 miles of the Boundary Trail cover a lot of interesting country, but like to cherry pick with a light daypack, so I picked what looked to be the very interesting section between Badger Peak and Craggy Peak. A long dr...

I guess that is what I get for being a little tongue in cheek with my caption ;)

Re: Great to be a part

The second pic is definitely atop East Zig Zag above Burnt Lake for lunch. Thanks for the welcome! Your reports are quite useful and informative.
