Don’t blame the forest service. Blame the politicians who don’t fund the forest service sufficiently.

Thanks, everybody! As luck would have it, my wife is able to join me. We’re planning to get up into Paradise Park, either via Timberline Lodge, or via the Paradise Park trail if the blowdowns aren’t too bad.

I’ll circle back next week to report out.

Has anybody done this trail yet this year? I’m considering paradise park via this trail because the prospect of walking up through the different stages of forest on the mountain appeals to me. But if the blowdowns are really bad, it may not be worth the effort.

I don’t know the Rogue River area (I live in Virginia, and am mostly lurking on this board while I prepare for a trip on Mt. Hood in a couple of weeks).
