Re: Server errors are getting worse

The 504 errors have been really bad lately and super sporadic. Feels like a 50/50 chance on whether the forums will load or not, regardless of the time of day.

Mosier Plateau/Rowena Crest

Looking to do both the Mosier Plateau and McCall Point hikes next Saturday. Never done either one so was wondering which one would be better to hit second based on ease of parking. I'm not too worried about the first, since we'll aim to arrive around 7:15am. Second one would be closer to 9:30am thou...

Re: Recreation.gov.

I think my biggest gripe is that I've never had an issue on ReserveAmerica when it comes to release time reservations. I've hit the "Sorry, too many users are attempting to reserve something" on recreation.gov a lot which has caused missed/non-preferred reservations.

Re: Coyote Wall and other bike trails

Time for civil disobedience. This sounds like a lot more "impact" than anything hikers are doing. More death by bureaucracy? For portions of the trail to be decommissioned, the first step will be to grade the entrenched trails to match the normal grade of the slope to the maximum extent practicable...

Re: Mt Rainier Timed Entry Permits

My biggest annoyance lately is the lack of camping amenities. I swear the Longmire Inn used to have an Ice Cooler serviced by some company, but getting cooler ice has been hit or miss in the last couple years. Even worse is firewood. Giant shed full of bundles at Cougar Rock CG, but no staff, so you...

Re: Labyrinth Trail (March 16)

Was on the Coyote Wall half today -- Grass widows are probably half gone now. Lots of stems without blooms compared to the last couple weeks. Desert Parsley in full bloom and aromatic as usual. (I actually like the smell -- it's a "spring is here" smell to me). Biggest surprise of the day, saw sever...

May try their contact form on their website: https://stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=v.contact

I've used it before for questions and usually hear something back within a day or so.

Re: 2022 and Beyond - Snow Levels

I've seen a few trip reports on the Oregon side of the gorge, but has anyone been out on the Washington side lately? I imagine Hamilton is probably still pretty socked in, but what about around Coyote Wall/Catherine Creek? Last visible snow on a few of the webcams via Tripcheck finally disappeared i...
