Re: America The Beautiful Pass
A couple years ago I posted a question similar to yours about passes at trailheads parking lots. Many hikers replied stating that the America the Beautiful Pass not only works in National Parks, but it's also valid at many trailheads in Wa and Or. We ended up using ours at Goat Rocks and there were ...

Breweries
Each year after our backpacking trip in various locations across the western US, my father and I like to hit the local breweries. I've been told by some of my buddies that Oregon has some pretty darn good beer. So I wanted to ask you locals, where do you recommend? We plan to be in the Portland area...

Re: Trailhead Parking
The pass he has displays a picture of 2 red cactus flowers on it. The back specifies that it is the America The Beautiful pass. This is good to know. Thanks!

Trailhead Parking
Can someone please explain to me the ins and outs regarding the Northwest Forest Pass to park at trailheads? Being from PA, this is new to me. As I stated in the "Introduce Yourself" forum a couple months ago, I'm planning to do some backpacking in Eagle Cap Wilderness (although we might go to Goat ...

Re: Not a Local
Thank you all for your informative feedback regarding Eagle Cap. I think at this time the best thing for us to do is to sit back and see what the snow conditions hold come July. I appreciate the info about the rowdiness that can occur at Mirror Lake-not what most of us sign up for. And I'll also kee...

Re: Not a Local
Thanks, Tex. I looked at many of your pics and now I'm even more excited to hike there than before (and trust me, I was pretty excited). I think Glacier Lake will definitely be one of our campsites. We're going at the end of July so hopefully most of the snow will have melted. And if the bugs are ba...

Re: Not a Local
I do, Tex. We plan to start at Two Pan Trailhead and hike into the Lake Basin area. We want to spend 3 nights there, spending each night at a different lake, as well as hiking up Eagle Cap. I also plan want to do some fishing up there. Then we'll spend our last night at Minam Lake, and head back out...

Not a Local
Hi, I’m not from Oregon, but I’ve been there once before. I’m from PA. Last year I stepped into the eastern side of Oregon by dipping into the Snively Hot Spring after a fantastic backpacking trip in the Sawtooths of Idaho. But anyway, I wanted to join this site because I’m going on a backpacking tr...
