Re: Reporting on Gorge's HCRH Permits

Now the Portland Tribune reports that the permit system will not apply to the entire waterfall corridor this year. Because there wasn't sufficient funding. The parking lot within I-84 will still require a timed-entry permit. https://www.portlandtribune.com/news/odot-ends-waterfall-corridor-permit-sy...

Re: Flagging In The Gorge

My first thought was that a search and rescue group might be marking a search operation. But they are a lot more respectful than that. And I would expect to see flagging on a grid, not linear. EDIT: Oregon Hash House says they run on 2nd and 4th Saturdays as well as the full moon. https://oregonhhh....

I often have an FRS with me when I hike. But I don't monitor it when I am not hiking.

Re: USFS oppression marches on with proposed high-Hood permit

What do you propose? I'm glad you asked, Jesse. Though I prefer taking action to making proposals. I maintain a forest road that was at risk of being closed, with whoever cares to join me. We work under a volunteer agreement with the Forest Service. We are planning another joint workday with the Ch...

Re: USFS oppression marches on with proposed high-Hood permit

Perusing their website , I see that there are a number of properties that they still allow people to access for fr...

That is cool. It looks like one of you has a go-pro on your helmet? It would be fun to see that video.
