Re: (Rainier) Indian Henrys Hunting Grounds from West Side R

We were there a couple of years ago. Drive to the parking lot at the end of the maintained Westside Road. Walk (or bike) a little over a mile up the closed road to the Tahoma Creek Trail. It's on a tight road turn, where the road pulls away from the creek. The Tahoma Creek Trail isn't maintained, bu...

Re: Oneonta Gorge with a side of Horsetail

I find it really odd that two were found together like that. Tells me someone put them there, so we have to throw the location out as evidence. If I'd found these on an eastern prairie my guess would be yellow bellied marmot. I don't think they live this far west though and can't imagine why someone...

Re: Glacier "Rephoto" Photography

Koda, Thanks for sharing, I find this kind of stuff fascinating! Am I missing something though? It seems Mnt Shasta has more Glacier than before? Sunscreen and bug juice. You'll miss those if you need them.

Yeah, they are HORRIBLE at Ridgefield right now. I've never seen them so bad. Had one actually get inside my camera when I changed lenses.

Re: Search Option keeps crashing?

I've definitely noticed that I get the "you cannot use search now" message much more often when I'm not logged in. Clicking on "unread posts" used to take me to a login page. Now it almost always fails. After I log in, it almost always works.

Re: Herman Creek Casey Creek Gorton Creek loop 6-9-13

Yep: Rosy plectritis. I've always hated that name. If I remember my basic medical terminology that would mean that your plectra is red and swollen. Further work avoidance took me to google where I found that plectra is the plural of plectrum, which is a fancy word for something used to pluck a strin...
