Re: Exploring/Reviewing Timothy Lake (a crown jewel of Mount Hood National Forest)
I guess its a matter of big picture perspective - I created this particular thread about Timothy Lake - what does it matter if there are 30 posts in it or 5 or 100, its just ONE line item topic is a much bigger forum, and I don't see it as a fundamental harm in bumping it up. If someone isn't inter...

Your youtube links are starting to feel like excessive self promotion. Your last 3 comments on this trip report alone all contain links to your youtube channel and every time you comment you keep moving this thread back up to the top of the trip report page- despite it not having any engagement from...

What's this?
I came across this formation of stones in Indian Heaven Wilderness yesterday. Definitely seems man made and it was roughly person size, so I was wondering if maybe it was a grave marker? It seemed too small to be the foundation of a structure. Any thoughts?

Just FYI the shot you have labeled as "Clear Lake" is actually Lemei Lake. I also happened to be hiking Indian Heaven at the same time as you- I did the same little loop around the core of Indian Heaven- but I came in via Thomas Lake Trailhead. We really got lucky with the warm temps and clear skies...

Re: Jefferson Wilderness Aug 11-15
Did you happen to hike the Lake of the Woods trail from Bingham Ridge up to the PCT?? If so, wondering how conditions are?? The FS said that section of trail is totally unhikable due to deadfall. Thanks!! I "hiked" the Lake of the Woods trail a couple weeks back and would agree with the forest serv...

Re: July 16-18 Mt Margaret Backcountry via Norway Pass
We were the only people at Dome, yet all permits were taken I believe in years past most of the camps would allow two different groups on the same night, but this year they are exclusively 1 group per night at all camps except for Ridge Camp, which still allows two groups at a time. Taken directly ...

Re: Silverstar Goat Surprise
I suspect the Silver Star Goat is all by himself, as no one has ever seen more than one up there. He must be lonely... In fall of 2017 I was on Silver Star and encountered an adult goat and it's kid. No idea if they migrated there together from elsewhere, or if the 3rd member of their family was so...

Re: Deaths at Panther Creek Falls?
I believe they are referring to the use trails that lead to the base of the waterfall being closed. Last time I was out there in late September/Early October, the forest service had posted multiple signs indicating the lower areas was closed and they had put up orange plastic fencing in an attempt t...

Re: Mount Margaret Loop
I approached Ridge Camp from the Coldwater Trail, then exited the area following the South Coldwater Trail to form a loop. I remember reading this thread before doing the hike and was intending to look for springs or other water sources, but can't for the life of me remember seeing a reliable spring...

Re: Mount Margaret Loop
So, I just got back from hiking up to Ridge Camp and back. Those pictures definitely do not appear to be from the camp itself, the view doesn't quite match. I was losing daylight and didn't have time to explore further, but If I had to guess I would assume they were taken from somewhere further east...
