Re: three days looking for Lost Lake
Bravo! Darkstar is one of the more nutritious selections. No need for trendy protein bars or other nonsense. Their recipe is spot on for hiking. There's a sandwich in every can.

Re: Sawtooths Backpack, July 1995
Love it! Last time I visited that region was 1993. Guess it's high time to invest the time and return once the dust settles. Most of all, thanks for taking the time to compose an awesome report and those images are treasures.

Re: Enchantments...cut short
Wow amazing! Now I can see why it's a much coveted destination... Funny you should say that, because the Snow Lakes area is the least coveted part of the Enchantments! I was able to hike the Enchantments when I lived up that way 40 years ago. It was getting overrun then, and the permit system was a...

Great report with really awesome images. Sharp as a tack. I especially enjoy the images including your hiking partner packing the blue rest pad! His expression looks like he was quite enthusiastic and enjoyed the outing lots.

Re: Devils Kitchen - Mt Hood
Thanks for posting the report and sharing all those superb images! It's obvious you have a depth of experience with outdoor photography. Those are some of the best Hood images I've seen in quite awhile. That was an epic trip and certainly required very good fitness and skillset to complete. It made ...

Re: Eagles @ The Dalles Dam
Chris, as always, consistently superb. It reminds me when I'm out trekking in the wild places, it's just pretty landscape without the native flora and fauna. I've spoken to you at the Tualatin refuge several times, so I know how many hours you invest in the field for the final product. I've no guess...

Re: Timberline Trail in a Day
Loved your report! Both the images and narrative were a pleasure to read. Moreover, a big high-five for your accomplishment, especially in one day! Of particular note, I enjoyed your comment on damp shoes and how " the biggest issue is just changing your mindset ." Oh how many times I've discovered ...

Re: Neahkahnie Mountain - 1/13/18
Superb report with awesome images! It takes time and effort to compose these reports, so many thanks. The last time I was up there was 20 years ago. My first trip up was as a teen many decades ago. Too bad the trail has suffered so many years abuse. Resources for upkeep / repair are slim, if any. Gl...
