Family Falls and Ogle Mtn Trail

Following old trip reports, we hiked to Henline Falls, the various Family Falls and Ogle Mtn trail until the East Fork of Henline Mtn. 1 Henline Falls.JPG From Henline we backtracked to a rocky path we noticed on the way in. This took us too high, nearly to Ogle. When we crested, we noticed a side t...

Re: Phlox Point from Kueffler Road

My friend noticed boot rock, although I walked past it. Not sure I understand the location of the shortcut, but we did take a quicker route to the equestrian bridge over Hardy creek - green track vs. red track.

Phlox Point from Kueffler Road

Having hiked west from Kueffler Rd, we wondered about the old road which headed east toward Hardy Ridge. We found an old post to follow, so off we went, although counterclockwise. https://www.oregonhikers.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=17524&hilit=kueffler We started down the old road and soon found ...

Falls Creek Falls

I'd love to snowshoe to Falls Creek Falls, but am uncertain about the ability to park along Wind River Road or on NF-3062. Has anyone tried Falls Creek Falls recently and have suggestions regarding parking? Thank you.

Palmer Mill Fireplace

Went on a short hike up Palmer Mill Road, turned right at the orange gate, crossed Bridal Veil creek and then up the hill to a gravel road (don't know the name or number of the road). The forest off this gravel road was clear-cut. The remaining trees did not appear fire damaged.

Re: Harvey Road Trailhead

Thanks for checking this. I love that OH has a googlemaps link to the trailheads for directions to send to my phone. But I noticed the directions to this trailhead pin are different from the written directions and then got bogged down with the various names on google and the forest service. My plan ...

Re: White River West Sno Park

The White River Snopark is a very popular sledding area and so can be very crowded, but just near the parking lot. The field guide has the Boy Scout Ridge Snowshoe description. Agree, it would be hard to get lost here because you are between the river to the east and a ridge to the west. Eventually,...

White Iris - Bissell - Githens

We hiked the White Iris - Bissell trail and up Githens yesterday. Old Baldy View.JPG We missed the flowers mentioned in the field guide, so likely not the best season for this hike. It was a clear but cold day. There was very little snow and only on the SE part of the hike above 4000 feet. The route...

Huckleberry Mtn from Douglas Trailhead

We hiked from the Douglas Trailhead, past Wildcat Mountain and up to Huckleberry Mtn last Saturday. Other than the initial part of the hike from the trailhead past the quarry it was a pleasant hike. Limited views due to the clouds. Didn't hike up Wildcat. We just missed the rain, starting and finish...
