Re: Mount Margaret Loop?

For what it’s worth, here are some photos from last August/Sept 2020 of the washout area I think you are referring to... I went solo in August and was able to get across. Went again in September with my partner and it was definitely a little worse, so glad I had the extra hand ha. Can’t imagine it’...

Re: Primrose Trail?

Thanks! Better late than never I suppose. I look forward to putting all this Covid business in the past as well, hopefully you get a chance to visit the gorge soon.

Re: Primrose Trail?

Just wanted to say I decided to hike down Primrose in it’s entirety today. Someone has definitely taken care of this since the fire (maybe quite recently too). Fresh flagging and cut brush. And some new signage as well! So mostly what I’m saying is thank you to whoever did this work.

Re: Rainy, hail, thunder... and waterfalls at Silver Falls S

Really nice photos, thanks for sharing them! :) Also, thanks for the plant id, Scouler's Corydalis. I ran into a big swatch of it growing up nicely on either side of the trail on my way back to Wahkeena from Angel's Rest (415) and just didn't know the name. I could ever so subtly smell it in the air...

Re: Dry Creek Falls 4/28/2017

You got to have your camera ready to grab in an instant I have mine out wrapped around my wrist about 75% of the time. I'll put it away typically because it's raining or I have to scramble. I was also still as stone as I watched it sneak up the hill, luckily in the opposite direction I needed to wa...

Re: Dry Creek Falls 4/28/2017

I didn't know that it dried up downstream. I've been there several times and I was under the assumption it always ran all year. Also, I saw a black bear in the area about two weeks ago, about a mile and a half from the TH, and someone else said they saw a mama and cubs in the same area a couple of w...

Re: Elowah Falls

I have volunteered some of my time to TKO to help rebuild a new section of this trail, a landslide took out a nice chunk. The goal is to have it open by Memorial Day, but hopefully it should be sooner!

Re: Primrose Trail?

I did Primrose yesterday and the trail is in much better shape now than alluded to in this post. There is easily hiked tread (although sometimes faint) throughout with a small section of logging road about halfway - at the trail/road junction there is a sign. There is a primrose planted at the nort...
