Volunteers wanted for a new trail at McIver State Park

Trailkeepers of Oregon volunteers are working on a new trail at McIver State Park between Oregon City and Estacada. This trail is close to a mile in length and will traverse down a steep slope from a viewpoint at the upper levels of the park to a meadow closer to the Clackamas River. We have had two...

TKO work party report, Clackamas River Trail, 5-17-16

Note: I am having challenges getting pictures to post but want to post this work party report. Once I figure out the picture issue, I will edit it and re-post. On this work party, we initially focused on further stabilization of a section of trail in the wilderness that was damaged when a tree fell...

This is a popular boat launch site as well as river access for fishermen. The east side trail was more challenging and we needed to wait for d...

Work party report, Angel's Rest, April 5th, 2016

TKO volunteers hiked 2 miles to the series of short switchbacks near the summit of Angel's Rest. It was a beautiful day for a work party! A scouting hike on a rainy day a couple of weeks ago identified lots of water running down the center of the trail from one switchback to the next. Our goal was t...

Clackamas River Trail work party report March 22, 2016

Clackamas River Trail is a popular trail that was closed earlier this year due to many trees down from high winds. The work party was the second one this month that focused on two areas of major damage caused when root balls pulled away the trail. The two sites are very close together in the wildern...

Clackamas River Trail

My husband and I went out to the Clackamah River Trail yesterday to hike and do some scouting for possible trail work, only to find that the trail is closed. There are signs that say that fallen logs on the trail and slides have made it unsafe. We did not venture onto the trail, but wanted to report...
