Time for civil disobedience. This sounds like a lot more "impact" than anything hikers are doing. More death by bureaucracy? For portions of the trail to be decommissioned, the first step will be to grade the entrenched trails to match the normal grade of the slope to the maximum extent practicable....

I was reminded of the argyle tree a few days ago, between ice storms in east county. The pattern in the ice on this tree, is similar. Considering the winds we had, no doubt this tree twisted and rocked, creating the pattern you see.
