I googled that phrase, suspecting I'd see no results. I didn't. :D
I suspect "morning came, and unfortunately we had been killed by a tree" will be even less common.

Has anybody driven to the summit? Seems like it would be a rough ride.
Affirmative on both. I do not recommend it.

Re: MSH: Blue Lake to Castle Ridge, 9/6/2020

I didn't see any signs on the main road that made me believe I needed one. There were some signs on side roads toward the west. Further east it's Washington State (DNR?) land so I recommend hanging a Discover Pass if you have one.

Re: MSH: Blue Lake to Castle Ridge, 9/6/2020

My sleuthing took me to this point (loc: 46.226729, -122.273087) as the likely "Castle Lake TH" location. That's the trailhead I hiked from today. Other than having to dodge a couple of log trucks access was easy. Most of the way is good gravel, but it turns to moderate potholes to the east. Unless...

Re: Girl Scout Basin

I didn't use the data for the upper part of the slide area, but here's a view from the river of the snout that gives a great sense of how the whole valley is just a pile of debris inching toward the Columbia https://elevationchanges.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/windslide.jpg That is a great visua...

That rope looks core shot to hell. Yikes.

This photo is fantastic. Next clear day I'm heading for this viewpoint. It has been on my list for a while; thanks for the reminder!

Does anyone know if the waterfall visible in Eliot Gorge from Inspiration Point has a name? And is there a way to get to the base of it?
Stranahan Falls, often mislabeled as Wallalute Falls.

Re: Bird Creek Meadows Opening 2021

Are all the trailheads open including Hellroaring Creek, or is this a partial opening?
