For certain, it would be a judgement call. In the summer it can be fine in the morning but then in the afternoon be high.

In September last year water at that crossing was higher at 5:40PM than it was a 4PM. I didn't expect levels to continue to rise into the evening.

I wear thin nylon gaiters. And merino wool socks. Maybe that would help. There's some thickness - I don't know how long snake fangs are

Where do you start this hike? I have been to the old Mill Creek Lookout site but that doesn't appear to be close to this.

If you find any good options please post them as I would benefit also.

If you can find someone compatible who likes to hike down hill instead: for any trail with vehicle access at both ends you could drop them at the top and let them drive your car up from the bottom.
