Re: Closed hikes in Field Guide

Shepperd's Dell has been open since at least September 8th. I figured I was the last to know or I would have said something.

(trailhead #3)This is the farthest-down-valley trailhead, closest to old forest. A faint informal path leads from the end of this road to the trail proper in about 400 yards. No trailhead sign, though.
Do you have GPS coordinates for trailhead #3?

Good sleuthing, Webfoot! The only thing I'll add to the list are 40-150mm Oly zoom lens and a pouch with three neutral density filters + step up mounts. All very light and compact, as well.
You put them to good use. Do you carry a GorillaPod?

Re: poor planning (adult language warning)

40L for a daypack? Fengdong? Oh, I guess you have a ton (literally?) of camera gear. We do love your excellent photos. According to the metadata his primary kit is quite light: OM-D E-M10 Mk III and OLYMPUS M.12-50mm F3.5-6.3, at 22 ounces combined. I sometimes wish I had a Micro 4/3 setup as my AP...

Re: Vine Maple

Thank you. I for one appreciate nice drives on forest roads. There is also some nice vine maple color along the east edge of Big Lava Bed in GPNF.
