Re: Silver Star north ridge snowshoe
Thanks a lot for the TR. Did you drive via Dole Valley Rd/L1100 Rd or via Sunset Campground?

Re: Surprise on the Labyrinth Trail
... At the viewpoint, just above the upper falls, we noticed a man with a camera, working very intently, down close to the ground. He was eager to show off what he had found, surprise! An early bloomer!: ... Great TR! That man showing off the flower was me :D. Nice meeting you guys! I actually foun...

Re: Tamolitch "BluePool" - McKenzie River
Great photos. I love that area very much.
For some reason, the blue water gave me goosebumps. Could it because I was there too early (usually before 9am)? Anyone else had similar feeling?

Re: McNeil Shelter to McNeil Point Snowshoe
I always thought the actual McNeil Point is about 800 feet above the shelter. This is consistent with this blog: https://www.google.com/amp/s/suchgreathikes.wordpress.com/2010/07/27/mcneil-point/amp/ "Before we knew it, we were at the McNeil Point shelter. This is a great place to declare victory an...

McNeil Shelter to McNeil Point Snowshoe
With a rare Sept snow, I was eager to check out McNeil point the weekend. left home around 4:30am and on trail a little after 6am. Snow started around 5000 feet and then became persistent about a quarter mile before the scramble trail. The scramble trail was buried by a foot of snow and was easy to ...

Re: Possible loop from Cold Springs to Iceberg Lake?
Wow! That's a steeper route than I'd have picked based just on the map. Looks like fun! I remember (well!) dealing with all the loose stuff around the lake. Very slow going. Worth it? I'll need to think about something like that, when I go back again. :) I picked up that route since I wanted to che...

Re: Possible loop from Cold Springs to Iceberg Lake?
Damn interesting question! Makes me wish I'd thought of it while up there. I bet it's fairly doable, though you'd probably want to go down below the moraine before angling over. (Replying mostly to watch for others' replies, I'm afraid.) capture.jpg Thanks a lot for the suggestion. That definitely ...
