Driving Directions
From Brookings:
From the center of Brookings (Highway 101 and Center Street), drive east on Highway 101 for 0.5 miles.
Turn left on the North Bank Chetco River Road for Loeb Park and Azalea Park, and drive 15.9 miles (the North Bank Road becomes FR 1376).
After crossing a bridge over the South Fork Chetco River, turn right onto gravel FR 1909, and go 7.9 miles.
Make a sharp right at a junction, and continue on FR 1909 for 6.4 miles to another junction.
Keep right to park at the Vulcan Peak Trailhead. (Going left takes you on a much rougher road to the Johnson Butte Trailhead for Vulcan Lake.)
