Driving Directions

Via Sandy:

From the last traffic light at the east end of Sandy (after the ARCO station), drive 30.9 miles through Zigzag, Rhododendron and Government Camp on Highway 26 to the junction with Highway 35.

Exit Highway 26 to the right and drive for 13.7 miles. Make a right turn onto paved FR 44 for Lookout Mountain, Camp Baldwin, and Dufur.

After 5.3 miles, at the junction with FR 17, Road 44 makes a sharp right for Camp Baldwin and Dufur at the junction with FR 1720.

Continue on FR 44 another 6.7 miles and turn right into the small campground/rest area at the Underhill Site.

Via Hood River:

Drive I-84 east to Hood River and take Exit 64 for White Salmon and Government Camp. Turn right, and then right again immediately.

Drive 0.4 miles to a four-way stop. Keep straight here on Highway 35 South for Odell, Parkdale and Mt. Hood.

Drive 26 miles and turn left onto FR 44 for Lookout Mountain, Camp Baldwin, and Dufur.

After 5.3 miles, at the junction with FR 17, Road 44 makes a sharp right for Camp Baldwin and Dufur at the junction with FR 1720.

Continue on FR 44 another 6.7 miles and turn right into the small campground/rest area at the Underhill Site.
