The most treacherous part of the new Heartbreak Ridge Trail is this steep climb up a talus slope. The trail enters the rocks near the bottom and exits at the very top. A rough route is outlined with rough cut poles, cairns and blaze orange ribbon. The route requires a lot of looking at your feet, but don't forget to turn around and look back. The views are tremendous.
