Silver Star-Ed's Trail Junction

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

The trail junction described here (Steve Hart)

This is the lower end of Ed's Trail. The closed road switches back here and the single track Ed's Trail heads up the mountain. There's a great view of the Starway Canyon and Mount Hood from here, as well as views north to Mount Saint Helens and Mount Rainier.

Hikers climbing Silver Star Mountain have a couple of choices here. The simpler path is to continue up the closed road to the summit. The more interesting route, up Ed's Trail, passes through a the Ed's Trail Arch and has better views, but there's a bit of overhand climbing.
