Ridgefield Railroad Bridge

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

The new universal access railroad bridge, Carty Unit, Ridgefield NWR (bobcat)
Southbound Union Pacific train (Steve Hart)

Description

This universal access footbridge, which replaced the arched older span in 2015, provides access across the BNSF Railway to the Carty Unit of the Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge. A long ramp takes you down towards the Cathlapotle Plankhouse.

From east to west the tracks are the Ridgefield Siding, Main 2 and Main 1. Expect to see trains here at anytime, particularly when the signals visible to the north are lit.
