Driving Directions
From the north in Bend:
Driving south on Highway 97, Take Exit 138 for downtown and Mt. Bachelor.
Go 0.2 miles, and turn right on Colorado Avenue.
Go 1.6 miles on Colorado, passing through a traffic circle.
At a second traffic circle, go left on Century Drive, and proceed 23.5 miles, passing through one more traffic circle and then Century Drive becomes the Cascade Lakes National Scenic Byway.
Turn left for the Sparks Lake Recreation Area, immediately go left at a fork, and drive 1.6 miles.
Turn left into the entrance for the Ray Atkeson Memorial Trail parking area. If you reach the boat launch on Sparks Lake, you’ve gone too far.
From the south in Bend:
Driving north on Highway 97, take Exit 139 for Reed Market Road.
Turn left onto Reed Market Road after exiting, and drive 1.6 miles, going straight through three traffic circles and crossing the Deschutes River.
At the fourth traffic circle, go left on Century Drive, and proceed 23.2 miles (Century Drive becomes the Cascade Lakes National Scenic Byway).
Turn left for the Sparks Lake Recreation Area, immediately go left at a fork, and drive 1.6 miles.
Turn left into the entrance for the Ray Atkeson Memorial Trail parking area. If you reach the boat launch on Sparks Lake, you’ve gone too far.
