Description
The Platinum Creek footbridge began to disintegrate sometime before 2010, and by 2017 the span had completely collapsed. You can ford the creek near its confluence with Quartz Creek in spring: this is an easy hop towards the end of summer.
Before the creek and above the trail are the remains of some rusting equipment from the Plamondon Prospect, a Depression era claim that was worked until about 1950. The miners were looking for silver and gold-bearing chalcedonic quartz embedded in the tuff.
