Pacific Crest-Herman Bridge Trail Junction

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

This sign is a few feet down the Herman Bridge Trail (Steve Hart)

Description

This is an important trail junction. The Pacific Crest Trail extends northward to Cascade Locks and Washington State and southward to the Benson Plateau, Mount Hood and eventually Mexico. The Herman Bridge Trail drops off the hill to Herman Bridge and the Herman Creek Trailhead. Since the route via Herman Bridge Trail is shorter than the Crest Trail, many people on the way to the Benson Plateau use the Herman Bridge Trail as a shortcut. The main sign at this junction was burned during the 2017 Eagle Creek Fire.
