Oswego Canal Headgate

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Oswego Canal headgate at the Tualatin River (bobcat)

Description

The head gate regulates water flow along the old Oswego Canal to Oswego Lake. The current structure replaces one that was seriously damaged during the 1996 floods, when the river topped the barrier and flowed along the canal into Oswego Lake, destroying several expensive lakeside mansions.
