Hikes starting here

Fees, Regulations, Facilities

  • Northwest Forest Pass (or America the Beautiful Pass) required
  • Restrooms, picnic tables, viewing platform, interpretive signs
  • Trail in the dunes marked by posts; be aware of your bearings
  • Wet sand beach access only and no dogs in the snowy plover nesting area: March 15th – September 15th

Driving Directions

From Florence:

From the intersection of Highway 101 and Highway 126 (9th Street) in Florence, drive south for 10.6 miles.

Turn right for the Oregon Dunes Day Use Area, and proceed 0.3 miles to the parking circle.

From Reedsport:

From the intersection of Highway 101 and Umpqua Avenue (Highway 38) in Reedsport, drive north on Highway 101 for 10.8 miles.

Turn left for the Oregon Dunes Day Use Area, and proceed 0.3 miles to the parking circle.
