Netarts Bay Mouth

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

In the driftwood garden at the end of Netarts Spit (bobcat)

Description

Long, narrow Netarts Spit almost closes off Netarts Bay at this point. Across from the spit tip is the community of Netarts. Views north take in the slopes of Oceanside, Maxwell Point, and, out to sea, Three Arch Rocks. There are always harbor seals in the bay and they will watch you as you watch them.

It's tempting to try to loop around the bay shore, but this will only work at low tide and for less than two miles. The thickets in the center of the spit here are dense, deep and tangled, so it's a very uncomfortable bushwhack back to the beach. Stand forewarned!
