Description

The Rose Garden is a major public attraction, but still serves its purpose as a test garden for new varieties of roses. It is the oldest rose test garden in the U.S. There are four major gardens here: the Rose Test Garden, the Gold Medal Garden, the Shakespeare Rose Test Garden, and the Miniature Rose Test Garden. The garden was dedicated in 1924. The outdoor amphitheater hosts many events throughout the year. There are views to downtown Portland and east to Mount Hood.
