Description
Grouse Point lies off the Grouse Point Trail at a high point on that trail. A sort spur trail, much overgrown with rhododendrons, leads to a viewpoint above a steep talus slope. Look down into the drainage of the South Fork Roaring River and across to Indian River. Mount Hood is also visible on clear days.
Grouse Point was designated an emergency fire lookout site in the 1930s, and a trail was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps to connect it to Indian Ridge in 1936.
