Gifford Peak

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

North face of Gifford Peak from Blue Lake (bobcat)

Description

Gifford Peak is a forested peak on the Indian Heaven ridge line. The Pacific Crest Trail runs about 500 feet below the summit, which can be accessed from the saddle to the south of the peak via a shady and not-too-steep bushwhack. The north face of Gifford Peak drops precipitously into Blue Lake. Open areas near the summit offer views northeast to Sleeping Beauty and Mount Adams and south to Mount Hood.
