Eunice Lake Viewpoint

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Mt. St. Helens from the Eunice Lake Viewpoint (Steve Hart)
Looking down at Eunice Lake (Steve Hart)

This is a viewpoint slightly off the Thomas Lake Trail. When hiking east on the trail, pass the Eunice Lake Trail junction and head up the hill. At the top of the first climb, the trail passes through a heavily constructed section with logs on each side and fill dirt in the middle. Just past this, look for a side trail heading off to the left (north).

The path is less than 100 feet long and leads to a treacherous rocky viewpoint. You can see Eunice Lake directly below and Mount Saint Helens to the west. Be careful here. Some trees crowd the view of St Helens and it may be tempting to lean far out over the edge. A fall here would lead to certain broken bones and possible death.
