Eagle Cliffs Viewpoint

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Looking west to the Foley Lakes and Sevenmile Hill from the Eagle Cliffs (bobcat)

This viewpoint, at the northern end of the Chenoweth Rim and above the locally-known Eagle Caves, offers views to Sevenmile Hill, Crate’s Point, and Foley Lakes as well as east to the Columbia Hills. The city of The Dalles spreads below.

The sediments/conglomerates of these cliffs were laid down as the bed of a Pliocene lake well after the Columbia River Basalt Flows of 15-16 million years ago.
