Cougar Valley Trailhead

Driving Directions

From Portland:

Drive Highway 26 west about 60 miles from Beaverton and turn left at Necanicum Junction onto Highway 53 for Wheeler.

Proceed 17.5 miles on this winding paved highway and turn right on the Miami Foley Road.

Go 1.0 miles and turn left onto Foss Road.

Drive up alongside the old Port of Tillamook Bay Railroad and the Nehalem River. After 6.8 miles, Foss Road becomes gravel.

Continue another 0.6 miles, passing the access road for the Nehalem Falls Campground, and turn left onto gravel Cook Creek Road just before a bridge over the Nehalem River.

Go 0.8 miles before turning left to park before a gate with state park signage.
