  • Share trails with horses

Driving Directions

Drive I-84 east and take Exit 147 for Ione, Heppner, and Highway 74.

Turn right after exiting for Ione, Heppner, and Lexington, and drive 36.5 miles to the junction with Highway 207 in Lexington.

Keep straight here for 9.4 miles into Heppner.

At the junction of Main and May Streets, keep straight for Condon and Spray on Highway 206/207, and proceed 0.9 miles.

Turn left onto Willow Creek Road for Willow Creek Lake Recreation Area and Cutsforth Park, and go 22.5 miles, passing Cutsforth Park and entering the Umatilla National Forest.

Then turn left for the Coalmine Hill Capground, and go 0.2 miles into the large gravel parking area; the trailhead is at the far end.
