From Portland, drive south on Interstate 5 to Eugene, and take Exit 194A for Highway 126 eastbound.
Follow 126 east for about 45 miles; then turn right onto Road 19 (also called Aufderheide Drive) toward Cougar Reservoir.
After half a mile keep left at a fork.
0.3mi after the fork, turn left onto Road 2639 (Kings Road).
0.5mi later, turn right onto Road 480 (O'Leary Road), which you will follow 5.8 miles to the trailhead at the end of the road. This gravel road is rough in a few spots, but is passable by low clearance cars.
