Cape Meares Big Spruce

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

The big spruce at Cape Meares (bobcat)

Among the old Sitka spruce on the Cape Meares headland, this one stands supreme. It took over as Oregon's largest spruce in 2007, when the Klootchy Creek Spruce near Seaside was dismembered by one of the strongest winter gales in memory.

As the sign at the tree states, the tree is 144 feet tall, 48 feet in circumference, and 15 1/2 feet in diameter. It may be 800 years old.
