Bullrun Rock

Looking to the Elkhorns and Wallowas from the summit of Bullrun Rock, Monument Rock Wilderness (bobcat)

Bullrun Rock is the highest point in the Monument Rock Wilderness. At the top, you can sign the summit register, which was placed here in 2012 by a chapter of the Sierra Club. A cabin lookout was constructed here in the 1930s but only lasted a few years. You may see the old telephone wire on your descent of the west ridge. You can gaze down on the verdant valleys of Bullrun Creek towards the town of Unity. You’ll also get an unobstructed view of the Elkhorns from here, with the snow-capped Wallowas on the horizon.

Bullrun Rock is reportedly tick heaven in late spring, so check yourself frequently if you're here at this time!
