Blackbird Pond

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

The small cattail pond, Mima Ridges, Criterion Tract (bobcat)

There’s a small dam here that backs up a pond that hosts breeding blackbirds. The rounded slopes around exhibit rows of Mima mounds, whose geological origins have not been fully explained. Elk, deer, and coyote can all be seen in the draws below the mound ridges.
