Banks Vernonia-Hares Canyon Trail Junction

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

The Hare's Canyon Trail where it meets the Banks Vernonia State Trail (bobcat)

The Hares Canyon Trail, the principal east side trail of Stub Stewart State Park, meets the Banks Vernonia State Trail here at a four-way junction. The Williams Creek Horseshoe Trail leads down into the drainage to the west.

Joseph C. Hare was a lumberman who logged the area that is now Stub Stewart State Park. He had a mill near Buxton.
