Mt. Mitchell Snow Report 3/22/2008

Posted by SEM (2008-03-22)
We tried to hike/snowshoe Mt. Mitchell (it views Mount St. Helens from the south above Swift Reservior).  We only made it 1/2 mile up Road 10 before hitting snow and turning around - roughly 2 miles from the trailhead.  Beautiful day with some fresh snow on the summit.  I'd give it 2-3 weeks before it is passable.

Thanks for the report.  Thanks one of my favorite mid-afternoon escapes in the warmer seasons.  I oftened wondered about a snowshoe trip up there.
