| On presidents day, my mom and I headed out on a bushwhack that actually turned out to be a bit easier than Lindsey Creek. We parked at the gate on the road leading into the old wagon road historical area. The road goes steeply uphill for about a hundred yards to a junction with a remnant of the old highway. We turned right here, though it is an easier way to go straight and take the powerline road. The old road:
A rusty metal thing on the side of the road:
The way was very easy until this roadblock:
Here, the way deteriorates into a trail, which scrambles up a slope to a viewpoint along the roadbed that can be seen from the interstate east of Summit Creek:
The road then rounds a bend into Summit Creek's gorge, where the road becomes a rough user trail. The creek: A typical trail section: A view looking down the gorge: At the beginning of the steep cascades leading up to the falls, the trail got so bad that we scrambled down to the creek. The cascading section with the lower falls in the background (difficult to see):
Various small cascades:
The Lower Falls: From here, we scrambled steeply up the east side of the gorge to a powerline tower, where we found the road that we walked out on. First, however, we went to the upper falls. We took the road a few feet to a side road leading to the creek above the lower falls. After bushwhacking up the stream for about 0.1 mile, we saw the falls: The falls from below: On the way back, we took the powerline road east about a quarter mile to a junction, where we turned right for another quarter mile back to the car. Casey Currey-Wilson Edit: I don't know what's wrong w/ the pics, I'll add them soon.

| Nice TR Casey! Another new falls I hadn't seen photographed before. The going looked remarkably easy, in most of your pics there is a stark lack of brush, wow!
The lower falls look quite photogenic, it's nice to see a clean waterfall without a lot of junk and debris around. Nice area, thanks for the directions!

| Casey,
What a great hike! I've always wondered about those falls - I've seen the stream from the interstate. Great job. I'm definately going to go check those out one of these days. Nice photos as well.
