Caves swans and snow - etc...

I haven't been hiking as much as I'd like to lately, but thought I'd post an update here anyway. These were all still "trips", I suppose. And some bit of hiking or walking was involved.

The first is sort-of hiking... I visited Ape Cave on a very rainy December day with my nephew. We figured it was a safe bet in the rain. Had to walk about 1/2 mile up a snowy road to get to the cave entrance. The ceiling was dripping pretty heavily, but not so much that we got wet or anything. We did have the lower cave to ourselves:

The next started out as a snowshoe trip near the Wallowas. We didn't get any stellar views during the snowshoeing, but on the drive back home, a freezing fog had covered everything with ice:

The last involved almost no hiking, but was still pretty - last Saturday's snow in the Japanese Garden. I guess they do have "trails" there...
