Hamilton Mountain 7/16/06

Posted by sparklehorse (2006-07-17)

I was in this area doing other stuff today, so afterwards I thought I'd take on this little jaunt. Turns out this is a great time of year to do this hike as the crowds seem to have spread out to other areas. I saw very few folks all afternoon. The weather was warm but not hot. A cooling breeze for most of the hike was very welcome. The flowers are mostly gone now and things are getting pretty dry, but this is simply a stellar hike any time of year, certainly one of my all time Gorge favorites if not THE all time favorite. I did the obligatory loop, going up the "More Difficult" trail and coming down the merely difficult one. The trailhead is at GPS 45.63283/-122.0194.

It's been more than a few years since I've done this hike and I was pleasantly surprised to find it hasn't changed much. Still a gem...

Great pic of Adams and Table Mt!  What zoom were you at?  3x?

How were the flies up there?  Was the whole place buzzing?
