Ramona Falls 7/31 'Seasonal bridge' is in!

Posted by pdxgene (2007-08-01)

Just a couple quick looks at Ramona Falls from yesterday.. There is a new 'seasonal bridge' at the second crossing.. For now at least.. It looks like this..

It seemed pretty well set, you definitely want to hang on to the big tree as you cross..

There are a lot of nice little rest spots along the cool waters of the creek that the trail follows.. On a hot,dry and dusty day this was a nice place to take a break..

It was about 60 degrees at an empty Ramona Falls. A couple hundred feet away in the sun it was in the mid 80's. It almost felt cold (but good) sitting by the falls..

And sometimes if you hang around long enough you get some nice light situations.. The bright sun and the water bursting over the top of the falls provided a few..

The rest of them are at http://picasaweb.google.com/pdxgene/RamonaFalls

And of course, while the seasonal bridge is in, the permanent one is not. I saw 2 other singles and one couple (other than the 3 person work crew) for maybe a few minutes out of an 8 hour day.   They were all PCT hikers..
